Based on an original story by lead Patrick Huard, Bon Cop, Bad Cop is a refreshing new entry into the buddy-film genre. When a serial killer (Patrice Bélanger) begins murdering members of the hockey community and a body turns up on the Ontario-Québec border, Ontario cop Martin Ward (Colm Feore, Thirty Two Short Films About Glenn Gould) is assigned to the case. The only catch: he is partnered with David Bouchard (Patrick Huard), his counterpart from la belle province. And the only thing the two appear to have in common is that they are both cops, albeit cops with totally different styles.
The first completely bilingual film in Canadian history, Bon Cop, Bad Cop places the cultural differences of our country at the heart of the story. It is a film where Anglophones speak French, where Francophones speak English and, in perfectly Canadian fashion, nobody can understand one another.
