Take a trip Over the Rainbow to the merry old Land of Oz with this 1939 classic hailed as one of the greatest films of all time.
When Dorothy Gale gets swept up in a Kansas tornado and lands in the magical world of Oz, she must venture to the Emerald City to get help from the Wonderful Wizard or she might never get back home. Join Dorothy, played by the incredible Judy Garland, her dog Toto, the Tin Man (Jack Haley), the Cowardly Lion (Bert Lahr) and the Scarecrow (Ray Bolger) as they battle the Wicked Witch of the West (Margaret Hamilton) on their quest to find the Wizard (Frank Morgan) and get Dorothy safely back to Kansas.
The films amazing visual effects and unforgettable music made it a pivotal piece of film history and it still stands the test of time for audiences young and old.
This Fundy Film Special Presentation is in celebration of Acadia Cinema Coop’s 100 Years of Stage & Screen (1911–2011), the centenary of the theatre site.
Admission: $2 for students (18 years and under), $10 for adults.
