The Shortest Day
Fundy Film is pleased to collaborate with the Acadia Cinema Cooperative, the Wolfville Business Development Corporation and the Town of Wolfville to present The Shortest Day at Acadia Cinema’s Al Whittle Theatre.
The Shortest Day is a celebration of short films offering free screenings across the country. The Shortest Day was started in 2011 by the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée (CNC) in France to celebrate an art form that has moved in exciting new directions in this age of YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and other popular mobile and online platforms. Presented in more than 50 countries, the event is sponsored in Canada by the National Film Board of Canada (NFB), Quebec’s Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC) and Telefilm Canada.
From Newfoundland and Labrador to Yukon, more than 60 participating venues—movie theatres, cultural centres, associations, festivals and libraries—will join the celebration and hold free screenings of one or several of the three thematic programs: Kids (2:30), Family (4:00) and Comedy (7:00). A wonderful opportunity for audiences to discover talented Canadian filmmakers who have been honoured here and abroad on the festival circuit.
The Shortest Day: an entertaining way of welcoming the Winter Solstice on Sunday, December 21!
Free Admission: Please consider a Food Bank donation. After expenses, any profit will go to the Wolfville Area Food Bank.
