Up Dog offers pre-screening tribute before Levon Helm doc
Up Dog, a 3-piece folk-rock band that plays the music of Jack McDonald will perform around 6:40 before the screening of Ain’t In It for My Health: A Film About Levon Helm, Fundy Film’s opening documentary feature on Sept 11.
Jack’s Levon Helm tribute is actually 3 songs: “Turkey Scratch” (the name of Levon Helm’s hometown); “Dance The Beat Along” (the way in which a more experienced drummer friend of Levon’s described what a good drummer should do); and “Tooth & Nail” (about the feud between Robbie Robertson and Levon Helm over royalties and song credits for The Band’s songs).
A recording of the Levon Helm tribute will be released on Up Dog’s debut CD later this year.

Coming this Autumn. . .something NEW from Fundy Film!
You will be seeing – wW – on Fundy Film posters, brochures or here on the website.
What does wW mean?
weird Wednesday !
The Fundy Film Society Board decided to use some Wednesdays alternate to our regular bi-weekly Documentary Series for films (especially features) that would be better served with a single screening.
As a result, “weird Wednesday” emerged as a double entendre because
1. these Wednesday screenings will be random (i.e. at weird times)— not regularly scheduled, and
2. wW films will be weird. Really. Sometimes, i.e. just very unusual.
But also, for example, they will simply be just too long for two Sunday screenings.
So please do check out the two wW screenings coming this Autumn:
Blancanieves (Snow White) for Halloween, wW (Oct 30) and
In the Family on wW (Dec 11), a truly fine and unique film which is very worthy. It just happens to be unusually long!
6-Pack tickets apply for all wW films so give these wWs a try!
