ACC hosts Oscar Party
The Acadia Cinema Coop (ACC) will be hosting an HD screening of the Academy Awards broadcast live in the Al Whittle Theatre following Fundy Film’s 7 p.m. screening of Silver Linings Playbook. This is made possible by the installation of a satellite receiver done in co-operation with Just Us!. Just Us! has also agreed to provide coffee and tea in the lobby and will stay open until 9:00ish or 9:30 so that people enter easily. Admission is free but donations are gladly accepted and there will be a representative of the ACC Board in the lobby if you wish to buy shares in the Coop to help pay for the Digital Server before the February 28th deadline. 100th anniversary souvenirs of the theatre’s site will also be on hand.
Remember, we screen films at the Al Whittle Theatre as long as we have reliable electricity. Weather doesn’t stop us!

On Sunday March 31 (7 p.m. only) and Monday, April 1 (7 p.m. only), we will screen Quartet.
The Sapphires has been confirmed for April 28.
We plan to book The Life of Pi for the first feature of our Spring/Summer series on May 5, 8.p.m. But we will wait until the Oscar hysteria dies down to do this so please check here early in March for news about The Life of Pi.
