Volunteer opportunities
Are you as passionate about film as we are?
The Fundy Film Society is looking for volunteers. They are the life blood of our organization and there is always a lot to do!
Take a look at all the areas below where we can use your help. There is bound to be something you can contribute to our little band. Its fun and really important to us. And we are also very flexible: Job sharing, short term or substitute opportunities can be arranged.
Please get in touch if you see anything that interests you. We will welcome you and arrange to show you the ropes/provide a job shadowing opportunity in what ever you’d like to do or learn how to do. We look forward to hearing from you!
Here is what we do to bring our films to the Big Screen. Do you see something that you’d like to do to help make this happen?
Administration
Facebook — administers Fundy Films Facebook Page
Print Traffic — administers all traffic communication; keeps track of film arrival and departure; picks up and delivers film as necessary
Twitter — administers Fundy Films Twitter
Website — administers Fundy Film website
Box office
Box Office Coordinator — trains and coordinates a schedule of Box Office volunteers for weekly screenings
Box Office Manager — readies Box Office materials, handles screening accounts and screening communication to distributors and the Circuit.
Box Office Volunteer — works the Fundy Film Box Office at the Al Whittle Theatre (at least two positions per screening).
Design
PR Materials — designs the series package (tickets & all printed public relations materials)
Website — designs Fundy Film website
Distribution
Distribution A: — coordinates distribution of Fundy Film PR materials around Wolfville
Distribution B: — coordinates distribution of Fundy Film PR materials beyond Wolfville
Editing
Editor — edits PR materials and web content
Film Selection
Committee — selects films for each series – members must be paid-up FFS members
Liason positions
Acadia Cinema Cooperative & Just Us!: — coordinates communication with the theatre manager and café staff
Acadia University Campus — represents FFS to the university and helps with campus strategy and tasks
Film Circuit — coordinates communication with the TIFF Film Circuit
Media — serves as media contact for the Fundy Film Society and all series and special screening interviews.
Patron (email and phone) — responds to patron communications
Writing
Brochure — creates content for a brochure for each new series
PSAs & press releases — produces series Public Service Announcements & press releases for all media
Website content — creates prose for the FFS website- Home Page articles & notices; all film descriptions for individual film pages
